Junoflo: It was hard. All of the rappers and producers had worked very hard. Of course, I did my best too. I really wanted to do well because I knew how big of an influence this show has. Last season of Show Me The Money had changed my life. Given the experience I had then it was important that I have a good one this time too. I was able to show my passion and it was cool. As this was a rap show it was important to show your skill as a rapper. However at the same time, if you didn’t have any screentime to show your skill, no matter how good you were, there was no point. I wanted to rap with the standard of a producer.  It was all good though. I was lucky to have a match against Nucksal-hyung. Even if you get eliminated from SMTM you still get attention. Last season I was eliminated in

the 3rd round. I think if I went further at time it would have been harder because my Koreanwasn’t as good as it is now.  Can I be honest for a minute? Winning didn’t matter to me. It didn’t matter who won or lost. It seems as thoughSMTM’s audience intensely watched the show from episode one up to the middle of the season. But they would only continue watching if their favorite rapper(s) remained on the show. I figured I could show a good stage and afterwards continue to work on my business and music. When I go out, people recognize me and go, “Oh! Junoflo!” That feeling is amazing. I don’t like going to busy places but I don’t mind when people notice me. It makes me feel like I’m doing well.

Junoflo: ในรายการ SMTM6 มันค่อนข้างยากครับ แรปเปอร์ทุกๆคนร่วมไปถึงโปรดิวเซอร์ทำงานกันอย่างหนักเลยครับ และแน่นอนผมก็เช่นกัน ผมอยากที่จะทำออกมาให้ได้ดีเพราะผมรู้ว่ารายการนี้มีแรงจูใจที่ยิ่งใหญ่ขนาดไหน Show Me The Money ซีซั่นก่อนหน้านี้ได้เปลี่ยนแปลงชีวิตผม ได้ให้ประสบการณ์ที่ผมมี เพราะฉะนั้นมันจึงสำคัญที่ผมได้มีประสบการณ์ดีๆในครั้งนี้ด้วยครับ ผมได้แสดงออกถึงความหลงใหลของผมและมันก็เท่มากครับ เพราะรายการนี้คือรายการแรปมันจึงเป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่จะต้องแสดงความสามารถของคุณออกมาในฐานะแรปเปอร์ อย่างไรก็ตามในขณะเดียวกันถ้าคุณไม่ได้รับสกรีนไทม์ที่จะแสดงความสามารถของคุณเลย ต่อให้คุณมีความสามารถขนาดไหนมันก็ไม่มีประโยชน์อะไร ผมอยากที่จะแรปด้วยมาตรฐานของโปรดิวเซอร์ ทุกๆอย่างมันเป็นไปด้วยดีทั้งหมดเลยครับ ผมโชคดีมากที่ได้จับคู่กับ Nucksal ฮยองต่อให้คุณถูกคัดออกจากรายการ SMTM คุณก็ยังได้รับความสนใจ ในซีซั่นที่แล้วผมถูกคัดออกในรอบที่ 3 ผมคิดว่าถ้าผมได้ไปไกลกว่านี้ในตอนนั้นมันคงจะยากกว่านั้นแน่นอนครับ เพราะว่าภาษาเกาหลีของผมไม่ได้ดีเหมือนกับในตอนนี้ ผมขอพูดความจริงสักหนึ่งนาทีได้ไหมครับ? การชนะไม่ใช่เรื่องสำคัญสำหรับผม มันไม่ได้สำคัญว่าใครชนะหรือแพ้มันดูเหมือนกับว่าผู้ชมของรายการ SMTM ดูรายการตั้งแต่ตอนที่หนึ่งถึงช่วงตอนกลางๆของซีซั่น แต่พวกเขาจะดูรายการต่อก็ต่อเมื่อแรปเปอร์คนโปรดของเขายังคงอยู่ในรายการครับ ผมคิดว่าผมสามารถทำการแสดงออกมาบนเวทีดีได้และยังคงได้ทำธุรกิจของผมและดนตรีอีกด้วย เวลาที่ผมออกไปข้างนอก ผู้คนจำผมได้และพูดขึ้นมาว่า “โอ้ จูโน่โฟล!” ความรู้สึกนั้นมันสุดยอดไปเลยครับ ผมไม่ชอบที่จะไปในที่ที่วุ่นวายนะ แต่ว่าผมไม่รังเกียจเลยเวลาที่มีคนจำผมได้ มันทำให้ผมรู้สึกว่าผมทำได้ดี

Junoflo: It means a lot to me to receive an award for creating music. I feel like I’m finally doing something right then. After I won the award I wanted to work even harder. It made me happy that there were people out there who loved my music.

I don’t like negative vibes. When I meet someone for the first time and I don’t get a good feeling from them then I avoid them. I feel uncomfortable in those situations where people only want to be friendly with me because I’m a public figure. I feel uneasy in that situation. I can see it when people are trying to use me as a product. It’s like I know in the back of my mind that if I involve myself with this person then there’s going to be problems. I want to live a life that’s full of positivity and happiness.

Junoflo:     I study very hard. I learn from listening to music, watching movies and dramas. If there’s something I don’t understand then I’ll pause it, look through the words and memorize the new ones I don’t know. It’s not very easy. My favorite word is Jonna (존나).

I can combine it with other words like when I’m really hungry or I really like something.

Junoflo:  JK hyung is an artist and as my teacher he understands my situation and mindset more than anyone. We don’t need to talk in order to understand each other. Someone once told me that I’m like a young Tiger JK and I was like, Wow. Sometimes when the media shows certain people in a negative light people might hate them or vice versa.   When I told him that I wanted to be a part of Feel Ghood Music he said to me, “You can sign with a bigger label, why wouldn’t you do that?” Once I heard that, I had made up in my mind that I had to go to Feel Ghood Music. He’s someone that I believe give can give everything. Prior to meeting him I didn’t have a mentor. Since I met him, my life has changed positively. I trust him. I remember the day that I first met him at the airport.  I didn’t know what to say. Should I speak to him in English or Korean? Many people warned me that he would be intimidating. But when I met him he was super chill. He said, “What’s up?” and gave me a hug. I felt safe. I knew he wanted me as an artist and not a product. He may have wanted to know me as Juno, not just Junoflo for business.

Junoflo: Uijeongbu is like my second home. Here is where I learned a lot of stuff from Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae and Bizzy. These days

I love eating Korean food. The one food I tend to eat often is sundae guk.  Typically when I finish working in the studio it’s early morning. Not a lot of restaurants are open at that time. So a lot of these restaurants that are open serve sundae guk, and gamja tang. Recently I discovered the taste of fermented bean soup and chueo soup. One of the things I enjoy is going out and drinking with my friends. Back in LA I would go to Koreatown and hang out. I’d drink Whiskey before going to see concerts. It makes me feel happy when I get to enjoy music and drinks. From junior high to high school I spent a lot of time listening to Rock and Hip Hop. When it comes to music there are a lot of feelings within it that we often can’t explain. I wanted to pass that sense along to others. I believe that my music can affect someone’s life, inspire them, or even change their lives. That was the motivation for why I started to create music.

Junoflo: Before I debuted I was working in the fashion retail for two years. I was a manager for an online store that sold women’s clothing and we also had a booth during fashion shows.  One time I had borrowed $700.00 from my dad and bought four pairs of Jordans. I made a profit by reselling them/flipped them for$2000.00. I repaid my dad and then went back and did it again.  I love taking photographs. There’s an allure to capturing good memories from fun and amazing moments. I was blogging a bit too. There was a time where all of my friends had set their Facebook profile photo with one of my photos. At that time I was like,Damn, my photographs must be good then.  My love for photography led me to working for a Hip Hop agency. Through that I had the opportunity to go to the shows of many famous rappers. It was fascinating.  I learned a lot from watching them. From then I had made up in my mind that I could just have fun and vibe out with the audience; even if they don’t know my songs.

Junoflo: The education system between the U.S. and South Korea is different. I was studying pre-med (Psychology) in college. I didn’t want to do that. Not saying that I gave up. It just wasn’t right for me. Back then I didn’t know I was going to be a musician. I just wanted to be in the entertainment business. I told my father that I wanted to change my course of stud. He asked me what I saw myself doing in life. During that time I wasn’t sure, so I told him that I had to think about out it. He told me that I should do what I want to do.

Junoflo: Nah, my family had moved from Argentina to LA and they weren’t well off. After they had moved, I was a happy accident. When I was young we didn’t have much. The house we lived in was pretty empty. I was on my own in the house. My parents would work hard until late at night. When I was in middle school, that was when my parents’ business began doing well and we were able to move into the house we wanted.

Junoflo: Life was good. The environment around the college campus was great. The beach was nearby so my friends and I would go there often. The food was bomb . While I was there, that was when my personality started to really shift towards being more positive. UC San Diego is a very special place for me. That was where I started my music. I’m actually an introverted person. But while in college I had joined different clubs and made all sorts of friends. My personality completely changed.

Life in Korea isn’t easy. But because there’s so much to do it keeps me distracted from dwelling on that. I keep working hard on my music and my Korean. I didn’t come here to play games. So I have to put in work. I left everything in the States. I shouted “PEACE!” when I left. Of course, there was something I left that was a loss.  Before I came to Korea I was in a relationship. Both of us agreed that a long distance relationship wouldn’t work for us. Personally I feel that in order for a relationship to work that you have to be near

each other. For now I’m too busy to be in a relationship. But when I find the right one, I’ll take that time to love again.

Junoflo: There are plans for a new album to come out early in the new year. It’s been hectic so far. I have been sleeping in the car after doing shows, only to go back and grind in the studio. It has slowed down a bit within the last couple of months, so I put more work into making music. Best of all my mom, aunt and siblings are going to be visiting me in Korea. I also am going to be performing before Christmas. I can finish the year happily.
